There are a range of Christian denominations and other faiths in the area
The Church of England in Kirkby (the Parochial Church Council (PCC) of Kirkby, registered charity no. 1130754) is part of the Diocese of Liverpool (registered charity no. 249740), and the Archdeaconry of Huyton. The PCC runs three churches and the Centre 63 community centre:
- St. Chad’s Church in the centre of the town
- St. Andrew’s Church in Towerhill
- St. Martin’s Church in Southdene
There used to be a fourth – St. Mark’s Church in Northwood – but this closed in 2016, the building burnt down in October 2021, and was then demolished.
There are four Roman Catholic churches in Kirkby, part of the Archdiocese of Liverpool (registered charity no. 1199714):

- Kirkby Christian Fellowship located in the civil Kirkby Parish Hall in centre of the town (Fellowship for Christian Services, registered charity no. 509762)
- Lifegate Church in Southdene
- Northwood Chapel in Northwood (registered charity no. 1156053 and company number 08811198)
- Westvale Chapel in Westvale
There is also a Hindu organisation, the Liverpool Ganesh Centre (registered charity no. 1147647).
