Religious Groups

There are a range of Christian denominations and other faiths in the area

The Church of England in Kirkby (the Parochial Church Council (PCC) of Kirkby, registered charity no. 1130754) is part of the Diocese of Liverpool (registered charity no. 249740), and the Archdeaconry of Huyton. The PCC runs three churches and the Centre 63 community centre:

  • St. Chad’s Church in the centre of the town
  • St. Andrew’s Church in Towerhill
  • St. Martin’s Church in Southdene

There used to be a fourth – St. Mark’s Church in Northwood – but this closed in 2016, the building burnt down in October 2021, and was then demolished.
