There are many opportunities to vote as a Kirkby resident across a variety of different levels of elected bodies, and the occasional chance to vote on specific issues in referenda
To be able to vote in elections or in referenda, you must be eligible and registered to vote:
- Register to vote at gov.uk
- Find out additional information about voter registration from the Electoral Commission
The next elections to take place in Kirkby are all on Thursday 6th May 2021:
- Knowsley local elections to elect Knowsley Borough Councillors
- Merseyside Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) election
- Liverpool City Region Mayor election
Other elections which take place in Kirkby are:
- UK Parliament elections to elect our Member of Parliament – the last one took place in 2019, with the next due in 2024
- Referenda – the last one on the UK’s membership of the European Union took place in 2016, and no other referenda are currently planned
Kirkby does not have a town council and so does not elect civil parish councillors.
We no longer take part in the European Parliament elections as the UK left the EU on 31st January 2020.
